Fortune 500 Company Reputation at Risk?
Your First Line of Defense is Digital Intelligence
Client Overview
A Fortune 500 global healthcare provider.
Background
When a major cybersecurity incident exposed sensitive patient and employee data, the company’s legal team scrambled to understand what was being said about the breach beyond corporate channels. With authorization to operate within privacy and legal guardrails, ProAlign was brought in to monitor social media, forums, and employee-run blogs for unauthorized disclosures and swirling rumors that could compound reputational damage or trigger regulatory scrutiny.
Key Findings + Activities
As part of ProAlign’s Deanonymization services, we investigated all anonymously posted chatter related to our client’s data breach including discussions of internal operations. We used OSINT techniques to deanonymized over half of the handles and teamed with our client to uncover actual employee names. A summary of our findings, including pictures and links to the online data, were provided to support internal workplace investigations.
Outcome
With ProAlign’s Deanonymization techniques, legal and HR teams gained visibility into off-network risks and reputation threats. The respective teams were able to move decisively, issuing targeted takedown requests, refining external statements, and reinforcing employee non-disclosure training.
By neutralizing high-risk misinformation and proprietary information, our client minimized regulatory exposure and reputational risk.
